Started in one kitchen. Still run the same way.
AR Spices began with a simple frustration: spices from the supermarket shelf rarely tasted like the ones our grandmothers used to grind at home. So we went back to the source — small farms across Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat — and built a small operation around one rule: never sacrifice freshness for shelf life.
Today we work with the same growers season after season, clean and sort every batch by hand, and grind only as much as we expect to sell in a few weeks. No warehouse-aged stock, no bulking agents, no shortcuts.
Three things we never compromise on
Direct sourcing
We buy directly from farming families in each region, paying fair prices and skipping the layers of traders that age and dilute quality.
Small batches
Every grind run is sized to sell out within weeks, not months — so the essential oils that carry flavour and aroma are still intact when it reaches you.
Nothing hidden
No anti-caking agents, no added colour, no starch fillers. What's on the label is what's in the pack — always.
From harvest to your kitchen shelf
A real sequence we follow for every single batch, in this order, every time.
Sourced
Whole spices bought directly from partner farms at harvest, region by region and season by season.
Cleaned & Sorted
Hand-sorted to remove stems, dust, and broken pieces before sun-drying to lock in colour and aroma.
Stone-Ground
Ground or blended in small batches on traditional stone mills, which generate less heat than steel grinders.
Sealed & Shipped
Packed in food-grade, aroma-locking pouches within days of grinding and shipped straight to you.
